Thanks to LinkedIn as a an upcoming college graduate, I am able to network with companies in the public relations field in hopes of gaining a potential employer.
I am a senior at the University at Albany and I just created a LinkedIn account. I have heard great things about LinkedIn and all the opportunities it allows from people trying to find jobs. I have made my professional profile and added all the necessary information. I included my past work experience by uploading my resume, my educational background including my major and minor, and the field of work i am interested in. I have networked and many connections with company's that i never would have if it weren't for LinkedIn. LinkedIn has really helped me and i think that everyone in college should have one!
That Facebook page was really helpful, I didn't have a LinkedIn account before and we should all definitely have one by now. I started networking with a few former employers and one of them already asked me to send him my resume in December again.
I think it's all really important that we make a Linked In account. I'm graduating in May but I already should be looking for a job in December. The job market today is very competitive.
I was able to get a job from LinkedIn last summer. I still keep in touch with my former employer too who will hopefully offer me a job out of college. This is a really good presentation. More people should definitely start using LinkedIn, especially college students.
